       Hello Guitar Player!

99% of all people who play the guitar have unknowingly locked muscle tension in to their bodies, and they don't know it is there.

This tension limits their ability to command and control the fingers, and sets a limit upon how far they will develop as players

Well, I don't know you personally, so I don't know the details of your situation. I don't know what style you play, or want to play. I don't know how much "natural talent" you have, or what playing problems you may be experiencing. But all that really doesn't matter very much when it comes to my ability to help you get out of the places where you are "stuck" as a player, and get to the next level of your playing ability.

You see, I have been teaching the guitar for over 30 years. I have taught every style, and every level of player. I have seen every obstacle to development that guitar players face, and I have devised a practice method that solves those problems.

Although there are many styles, and many types of players, there are some things that all players have in common. For instance:

  • all guitar players are human beings (I know you know a few that challenge this statement!)

  • all players use the muscles that control the hands and arms, and other parts of the body to play the guitar

  • all players use their minds to direct their physical bodies to play

  • and unfortunately, 99% of all people who play the guitar have unknowingly locked in muscle tension in to their bodies that they don't know is there. This tension limits their ability to command and control the fingers, and sets a limit upon how far they will develop as players. To remove this limit,  the player must learn how to practice in a way that eliminates that muscle tension, and teaches the muscles to function in a truly relaxed way while playing.

I have gotten many longtime players out of their difficulties during my teaching career, by using the same methods that I use to solve problems. These methods work for everyone who uses them!

However, there is one thing you must realize. In certain very important ways, you are going to have to consider yourself a beginner in order to get past the obstacles you now have. This is because there are certain fundamental things about playing the guitar, and teaching the muscles to have the necessary control, that no one ever told you. No one ever told me either, and I had to do the same thing, go back to the beginning, and discover some very simple, yet profound things about playing the guitar.

I play the classical guitar, where any defects in your technique will show themselves very clearly, and very painfully. As I developed and used "The Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar", I became able to do things I never thought I would be able to do. As I taught "The Principles" to my students, the results were incredible! When you learn and use "The Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar", they will work for you too.

The first step in getting to where you want to go, is to understand where you are right now. Read "How Are You Growing as a Guitarist? Horizontally or Vertically?"
