Do "The Principles" Apply To All Styles, Such As Rock Guitar?

Absolutely! "The Principles" enable you to understand the underlying mechanics of how the mind trains   the body in practice, so that day by day, you are able to turn you hands into the responsive and obedient instrument you need when you play your guitar. No matter what style you play, rock, folk, classical, it is the same two hands and ten fingers (or pick!) being used. "The Principles" will teach you HOW to train your hands and fingers, what music you decide to play is up to you!

Will "The Principles" help me if I play bass guitar?

Most definitely! In fact, the technique you need for bass is really the same as for guitar; it especially resembles classical guitar technique. Because the neck is longer and the strings are much heavier, it takes much greater strength and stretch on the part of the left hand. The Foundation exercises in "The Principles" are ideal for the development of this strength and stretch. Further, the right hand technique for bass is exactly the same as for classical guitar right hand. The 3rd chapter of "The Principles" trains you in the correct right hand position and use of the fingers needed for virtuoso bass technique.

Will "The Principles" help me if I play banjo, piano, or violin?

The fundamentals of correct practice approach also apply directly to bass, as well as to ANY instrument, especially any string instrument. However, aside from the details of technique (which apply to a great degree to bass and banjo, since they are fretted instruments), the practice approach itself, which trains the fingers in the technique needed for your instrument, is the most important aspect of "The Principles". That is why players of other instruments often but and use "The Principles".

Do I Need To Read Music To Use "The Principles"?

No. "The Principles" deal with the fundamentals of the physical act of playing the guitar, and how to use the mind to train the body to play, by making the body do what the mind commands. The path to acquiring skills like reading   music is already well laid out in other publications. "The Principles" focuses on what is essential to becoming a guitar player that ISN'T found anywhere else.

Do I Need "The Principles" If I Am A Long Time Player?

Most probably, YES. Our testimonial page is full of statements from long time players who made major progress on long standing problems after using "The Principles". "The Principles" show anyone how to get to their next level of development, no matter what level they are presently at. Most long time players also have "Long-Time Problems". "The Principles" show you why, and how to get rid of them. Long-Time Problems become "Gone-Time Problems"!

Can I Get "The Principles" Anywhere Else, Or Only At Guitar Principles.com?

At this time, all Guitar Principles Products are available only from the Guitar Principles website.

Are "The Principles" For Left Handed Players?

There are 3 aspects to "The Principles": Understandings, Tools, and Exercises. The Understandings are things you must know in order to practice correctly. These Understandings, of course, are essential and work for everyone, regardless of "handedness". This is true of the tools as well (practice routines based on the Understandings) that bring powerful and lasting results. The exercises are described for right handed playing, but I assume that left handed people are used to performing the "dyslexic" operations necessary to convert the instructions to left handed operation.

So, yes, "The Principles" work just as powerfully for  left handed players as well as right handed. In any case, BOTH hands must learn incredibly complex things on guitar. I am right handed, yet my left hand, which started out feeling very awkward, has become as master "gymnast"! So, personally, I don't even put much stock in "handedness" when it comes to playing the guitar. You need both, no matter which does what, and "The Principles" will show you how to train them!
