Dust In The Wind....Free Bird.....American Pie, and much more!

A great and very usable collection of rock and pop from the "old days". Excellent as repertoire (simply having songs to play) and for learning and applying new playing and arranging techniques.

Contains easy to read chord diagrams, lyrics, and piano arrangements.

A word about how music is published for guitarists (an often confusing situation for the beginner or non-reader): for guitarists, the piano arrangement is only useful if you know how to read music, including the bass clef. If you can do that, the music gives you much more "information" in terms of the actual arrangement of the song (exact chord inversions, etc.).

If you don't read, the piano notes are only little meaningless dots. However, the guitar player still gets all the words and chords to the song, which makes it useful, and worth the money, if you want the words and chords that is!

Where this type of sheet music notation falls short is when you want the ACTUAL guitar notes, and guitar arrangement. This doesn't matter for most of the songs here, one exception being "Blackbird" by the Beatles. This song is all guitar, so a piano arrangement is only of use to pianists, not guitarists! You do get the chords though, so it is fine for strumming and singing, and many guitarists can't handle the fingerpicking skills required for the song anyway! (this applies to "Dust In The Wind" as well).

Here is a sample page, and this is what it means when a book says "for piano, voice, and guitar"..............
