Happy Birthday Chords

Here is a lesson on changing these chords EASILY...

This lesson is taken from the GuitarPrinciples Publication "The Path: Chords & Rhythm", which is specially designed for beginners, teaching them special methods for learning chords, and a series of step by step songs to master.

The strum lines are placed over the words they go with. All strums are in an even "1-2-3" even if they are widely spaced. That is because (as in all songs) some syllables are sung faster than others. Just keep the foot tapping a steady beat. If you have trouble, say "1-2-3" as you go along.

You will find more practice guidelines below...

Practice Guidelines For Happy Birthday

Do the special exercise for fingers 2 & 3 given in the free video lesson for this song to teach your fingers to easily get into the D chord.

Practice the D to A7 over and over super slowly (see video).

When changing from D to G, hold 1 down on the 3rd string of the D chord UNTIL the 2nd finger of the G is down.
