Me playing my stuff and standards

Postby Tomakemusic » Tue Jan 18, 2011 7:40 am

Hello everybody, I decided to be a little selfish today and ask you to listen to my efforts posted on MS profile:
http://www.myspace.com/tommcat

1st piece: Way Out is a guitar solo from a new smooth-fusion stuff that myself and my pianist friend have written last 2 years and we gonna release a CD this year, solo is played at home through pod and the rhytm section tracks are from the studio so they sounds much better ( and play much better too) :)

2nd: Giant Steps: written by sax Giant J. Coltrane and so difficult that I can only play a theme and hope to be basically correct about it. Anyway it's very interesting study made by Joe Dorio, (another Giant), intro and ending is theme played with just sus chords and fast middle section is reharmonized with even more crazy chords but kept in form by melody and chromatic bass. Funny things is that if you listen to such "difficult" harmonies long enough you start to like it :) (at least it's my case)

3. Precious Alloy - my eternal desire to compose and play solo guitar. I have to do it even if I can't :))

Any opinion especially critical will be highly appreciated.

I liked it :D
Start where you are,
use what you have,
do what you can.
