Interesting... "Joe Stump"

A neighbor kid stopped by. Said I had to check out this guy.

I don't know if I like it or not yet.

So far there is the "2001: a shred oddyssey" - I kind of like that one.

So far the recordings are not all that great and the effects are on just a tad above 'right'.

The technique and fingering is pretty dang interesting in all the videos however.

Yes, cool...I have listened to Joe Stump's music for a few years. I rather like it a lot. I do feel, however, that he has, perhaps inadvertantly, ripped Yngwie off a little. There is some of his music where some of his guitar playing sounds almost verbatim to some of Yngwie's. Some arpeggios sounding very similar to "Liar" by Yngwie and in another song there is a section that sounds very similar to "Evil Eye". And I do not think it is resultant from playing similar styles and scales. Not to mention the strat and marshall choice, but, eh, maybe that was perchance. Despite this, overall most of his playing is very original and inspires me. Great player, great music!

Ha! There were stupendous similarities between some of the things he has played and some of Yngwie's songs (Yngwie's were made first), but overall I feel that his music is rather original.

Although there is some Yngwie influence, I could still say "unique". He has a fluid thing about his technique that is his own.

And incredible stamina.
