Beyond The Walking Exercises: Toward Scale Mastery

Postby gpstudent » Thu Aug 11, 2011 12:48 am

Hello Jamie and Gp.

I am having difficulty with Beyond The Walking Exercises: Toward Scale Mastery The 134 Combination. I have finally got the time to pay extremely close attention to this exercise and I am not sure about what I do when I get to the 1st string 8th fret. Do I reverse the exercise in the exact opposite order? Just making sure I practice it right. Thanks. :D

Hey there,

I'm working on the G Major Scale course too. When you're doing the 1-2-4 and 1-3-4 combinations, you don't reverse the order as you would in playing a scale. So you would still play 1-3-4 from the first string to the sixth string, not 4-3-1. It's the same thing with the walking exercises if you've done those already.

Hope this helps!

Yup, same as in the butterfly and ladder exercises. No problem!
