My GP Rock & Blues Electric Guitar Foundation Course

Postby Ted » Thu May 31, 2012 11:57 pm

Howdy Folks,
I just got my Guitar Principles Rock & Blues Electric Guitar Foundation Course via US Mail today.

I started digging in already, reading the first lesson and watching the vids and doing some exercising.

I'd always practiced Minor Pentatonic Scale #1 up and down the neck and always using my pinky. As Jamie explains it, there is a much, much better way of doing it. I now have to rework all my thinking and practicing relearn the scale in this new GP way. Not that I care. In fact I'm really rather enthusiastic about it and chomping at the bit to get going and learn more. I've only been working with it for a little bit this afternoon and it's a no-brainer. Obvious improvement has already begun.

I will make a video of my work and post it soon.

Great course, Jamie. Thank you.

Your welcome Ted! You will find a whole lot of info in the course that you have not seen. Most books, like "Blues You Can Use" should be called "Blues You Can Use If You Already Know How to Do All This Stuff". They only show you stuff that is really nice to play if you already know how to do everything correctly.

My course is the only one that will actually show you the mechanics of bending and vibrato, and how to develop them. So have fun, and I'll look forward to your posts. :D
Best,
Jamie

Excellent Ted! You are ahead of the game with your abilities...and that is a good thing! :D

Now, work that up in sixteenths, always doing no tempo and slow tempo first. Be on the watch for a diminution of power in the pick. It will be due to tightening in the arm at higher speeds. Keep the force on the string strong and the volume loud. Each note should have an impact.

Find out what your speed limit is, and let me see that.

Also, post your videos in the workshop forum, thanks!
Best,
Jamie
