Great Metronome PLUS MORE app

This is a great little app for iphone or android, for 2 bucks.

It's a very flexible metronome - really way beyond a metronome and into drum machine territory - but its greatest feature is its ability to randomly not sound on some beats. This is a great timing challenge / tester, and is as described in Victor Wooten's book and dvd 'The Music Lesson'. You can set the degree of randomness, i.e. what % of the time it doesn't sound.

Oh and another great feature is that one of the options for the metronome sound is a human voice counting 'one', 'two', etc.

I have done something similar with drum machine software, but it wasn't random, and it was sort of a pain to mess with.

Using this in combination with some ideas from Wayne Krantz to really work on my timing.

That looks like a great app.

In a similar vein, also see:

Thanks Simon!

Now I have two cool metronome apps. I've been spending a lot of time with Justin's lessons lately (blues rhythm mostly) and am glad to have an excuse to spend $2 on him. I like his app a lot.
