eJAMMING AUDiiO

Postby chefrusso » Sun Feb 06, 2011 5:11 pm

Hello everyone,

I've been using this new software called eJAMMING AUDiiO, that I think is going to revolutionize how we get together and practice and/or jam, especially in an online community such as this one.

Here's the link: eJAMMING AUDiiO

The software allows you to jam with up to 3 other musicians online and in real time, meaning there is little or no latency (if there is any, it is imperceptable, at least to me). I've been playing around with it the past couple of days and I've been playing in sessions with people in California, Canada, and even Switzerland, and it sounded as if I was simply listening to them on a monitor from the next room. Being that this is a really new technology, there is a steep learning curve in getting it setup properly, getting used to the software, and tweaking the settings so that it works seamlessly. Once it's setup, however, I've found it incredibly easy to use and a lot of fun! One word of warning though - the software uses ASIO technology which doesn't always work well with your built-in soundboard, at least that was my experience on my laptop (I'm sure Macs don't have that problem). I ended up getting a Line 6 UX2 interface for it to work properly, but I'm really happy with the interface and I think I would have gotten it either way. I'm sure it's going to improve the quality of my future GP videos.

They offer a free 30-day trial for the software and online access, but after that it's $9.95/month. They also offer price discounts if you pay for the service quarterly or yearly. So far, I think it's a bargain for what you can do with it and I'm sure I'll be continuing to use the service. Let me know if any of you sign up and I'll be sure to get together with you online. The only thing I have to do now is test it on the yacht to see if it works well there.
If you want some recipes, I have a few, but nothing's better on guitar, than some "tasty blues stew".
All the Best,
Christian

WOW man. This has got to be the coolest piece of software ever. I just jammed for 2 hours straight with a guy from ENGLAND.

He was damn fine player. It is addictive. I can't believe how great this is. Chef we've got to jam ASAP!!!

Christian,

Be careful..you might disintegrate the yacht with your metal rhythm playing and then the trillonaires and their hotties will have to dive straight into the sharks salivating jaws...instead of stage dive.......

I know what you mean man. This software has more than lived up to expectations! I was jamming with a guy from Switzerland this afternoon myself. How cool is that? Yes, Guillaume, we've got to get together ASAP!

I will be careful Ney; with great power comes great responsibility. The best part of the experience so far is being able to explore musical ideas with real people, not machines. It's exactly the thing you've been talking about for so long - not doing mindless drills and exercises but finding a basis for the motions in music. I've been applying what I've learned here so far and I've been searching for my own voice on guitar. Of course, I haven't reached my full potential at this point, but when I catch a glimmer of it, it's quite an amazing thing indeed!
