Ladder @ 60 BPM (baseline)

Postby phoeg » Sun Aug 07, 2011 10:41 pm

Hi, Jamie -

It's been a while for me here, so this is a video of the Ladder at 60 BPM after not having done it for about 6 months or more. I know there is much to work on, but I want to get a baseline again, so here 'tis.

After so much time away, I start having trouble (i.e. getting sloppy) from about 50 BPM (or 100 bpm at every second click) to 60. I know that my little finger is tense (and straight) when I'm doing the 1-2 combination at the end. That was always a trouble spot for me anyway.

Once again, this is posted to get my baseline reestablished so I know where to go, and it's also after 6-12 months away from the exercise.

Thanks, as always.

Paul

Hey Paul......good to see you back here!

You are in pretty good shape! The only thing I see is the pinky on 1-4......you need more bend in that distal joint.

Also, I would like to see the bottom of your practice. I want to make sure you are paying the proper dues there, and not feeling in a rush to make up time.

The form is still real good, those things usually don't go away, even after long breaks.
Best,
Jamie

Thanks, Jamie.

I was pretty surprised at how it went given the layoff. I had been having trouble keeping 2 & 3 separated while doing the 1-2 combination, but for some reason it felt better last night. And if you say it looks in pretty good shape, all things considered, that's good enough for me!!! :)

I will get some video of the other things you mention, i.e. the bottom of my practice.

Thanks again,
Paul
