Apple iPad and the GP Rock and Blues Course

Postby jrf073109 » Wed May 12, 2010 8:17 pm

My Fellow Players:

For What it is Worth:
I imported videos from the GP Rock and Blues Course into iTunes
Then I synched it with my iPad
Then I placed the iPad on my music stand
Then I was playing along with Jamie on various lessons

A simple, effective solution that enables you to hear and see Jamie repeatedly without having to be in front of a PC or Mac, or placing one in your practice area.

That's a really good idea. I put Jamies course on a memory stick and take it everywhere with me. I have a Droid, but not an Ipad.

I've gotten an iPad as well and use it all the time for practice, simply because it's so easy and portable and it fits on the music stand nicely.

You can also import all the PDF files into iBooks from this course or any of Jamie's computer-based courses so that you can refer to them during your practice as well. It's a pretty handy tool!

I'm also a big fan of GuitarPro and the iPad/iPhone app for that program is excellent. I've taken the R&B course and copied the tablature into GuitarPro so that I could practice along with it.
If you want some recipes, I have a few, but nothing's better on guitar, than some "tasty blues stew".
All the Best,
Christian

iPad Cameras. I am working on shooting my videos on the iPad/iPhone using the Front Facing camera. It is the weaker of the two cameras.

However, you can immediately upload your video to YouTube from the device.
Add the details from your desktop PC or Mac and then post the link in the forum.

This method may enable one to shoot the videos where you practice and not at desk.
