"Beyond The Walking Exercises" entry level?

Postby AXE » Sat May 30, 2009 8:08 am

Hello!

As I have understood it the correct order to take things is:
1. Mastering the Walking exercises in the Principles
2. Taking "Beyond The Walking Exercises" online course
3. Taking "The Six Essential Major Scales" online course

Currently I'm at the first step and want to ask when should it be considered that the walking exercises are mastered? At least enough to take the next step.

Thanks.

Hi Axe,

As a rule of thumb, you are ready to move on when the walking ex. are done with perfect form at 60 in 16ths. You should then continue to work them up while beginning the other exercises.

The real way you know you have mastered them (so they contain no flaws you do not see, but will hinder you nonetheless), is when I see you do them, and tell you they are perfect!
Best,
Jamie

Hi Jamie!

Thanks for the answer. I forgot to ask but I guess it is assumed that you can 'walk' 16th @ 60bpm in all positions, not only at the 9th fret, right!?
