I first saw Shawn Lane in LA at NAMM around 1996 when I was playing there showcasing guitars for OVATION with which I have had an endorsement since 93. I met him at Blues Alley in DC when he was with Jonas Hellborg . We hit it off immediately for some mysterious reason and I learned much from him musically and two revolutionary technical physical intelligence methods of training the fingers to play non-stop like he did which literally shook me out of my knowledge and allowed m to enter for the first time in my life in music into a different world of technical awareness altogether did not see him after that but we always had a connection which I think happens only when musicians ( or anyone ) are in the exact same place mentally and spiritually. When that is the case one feels like one has found another long lost brother... I always have been in a state of stunned amazement for having been graced with such occasions.
