Ladder Ex. @60bpm - 1click

This forum is for those players who would like to get on the path of progress and improve their playing. We invite you to post a video of anything you would like, preferably one that indicates where you feel you need work. Jamie and other forum members will assess your playing and tell you what you need to do to improve. This is also the place for all those working with Guitar Principles products.

SP, you still need to put more force on the string, that string should move at least halfway to the next string or more. It is not that we do this always when we play, but we must be able to put this kind of force, and it builds the controlled strength we need.

Get it in there at this speed, and keep it there as the speed goes up.

Thanks for the feedback Jamie. I will work on this and post back.
And I have bought the "Hammer on and pull offs" course. I had one question - Should I apply the touching technique to the walking ex or do the hammer on ex. itself? or should I do the string push down? and also you had mentioned about applying this to the second finger, is it a good idea to apply it to other fingers as well?

Looks good in general. I would relax the ring, middle and pinky fingers, instead of keeping them up like you have. Later, if you desire to play jazz or metal where very fast speeds are necessary, It would be much easier-in a general sense for most people- if you curl your fingers as I show in my DVD.

Hi Ney,

Thank you very much for the feedback. I have ordered your DVD from amazon.com and shipped to my relative in US :D . I think I will get it around May next year. Till then I will practice what I have learnt from you about the door knob action for my right hand.

Thanks very much Spprachant,

You have to wait 5 months? That reminds me of the days when I learned to play....We had to be patient and devoted...just like you...but we had no choice...Today the "tech-spoiled decadence-factor" :D :D ,which is not really technologically induced , but simply facilitated and very omnipresent, weeds out in mass numbers those who are not serious. So things haven't changed at all statistically speaking in centuries....I am glad you are on the fortunate side of things, like all -GP- students who act!

Hi Sp,

Use it on 3, then 2 to quiet both of those fingers. Anytime you use it, you will improve the willingness of your fingers to say close to the strings. It is a great eliminator of sympathetic tension. \

I am very impressed with your devotion spprahsant. I want to make sure you are doing what I want. Here are 2 ideas, If you are set up for webcam, I will meet with you for a few minutes to show you how to apply the technique to the walking ex.

Or, just shoot me an email at jamie2@guitarprinciples.com and I will give you instructions.
Best,
Jamie
