A couple more "song-through's"

Moonlight Sonata - Jamie's Notes

etc.,

These can be "lightly commented" $9.95, or full blown details $19.95 ( something like that ) and maybe "community edition" - let the forum participate and perform the act of creating such a material as in, there is no learning like when you go to try and teach something.

Excellent Lightrock! And I have just last night had some thoughts along these lines.

I am going to hook it up with what I said to Gabriel in the other forum about not having time for the writing of new, intense, and dense works.

I was thinking, why not convey these concepts verbally, in the context of a video lesson on a particular song or piece? I could guide students through something, explaining as I go, and showing all related practice details in the video. This way, I can churn them out, and we can sell them cheap.

As you say, I could develop them with certain "test" students right here in a closed forum, and then release it. That way, the 20 books that are in my head, full of the last few years of research that I can't get to put in written final form, would still be getting out there.

I'm liking this idea! :D
Best,
Jamie

Yep.

I could use a few "light" songs that don't have to be intensely detailed to round out better, some rhythm ones, some bluesy bendy ones... Things that maybe take a few weeks ( I can find a few weeks in a row a few times a year for some really intense focus ) otherwise it is like 15 mins here or there.

So far I just keep working on one particular Bach thing. Hopefully I can get a chance to finalize that one later this year.

Fur Elise would be great, maybe in half's or phrases

Virtually any rock/pop popular song that ( virtually all ) seem to lack a solo guitar arrangement. ( There may be quite a market for such )

Moonlight Sonata might be too many notes shifty chords all over for what I'm suggesting but I'd love that one...

And again, light and heavy versions. "Here, get going" and "Here, nail the heck out of it", separate out a bit. Focused a bit more on the music with more like disclaimer back to The Principles, more occasionally pointers where important, etc., You already have The Principles going...

I like the video idea, it can have 'commercials' that demo the advanced version(s).

Seriously, a lightweight Jamie's how to on any particular piece I think might hold a kind of magic like a fire to fuel.

Think maybe "Viral Marketing". One or two give-aways that have the snippets of the advanced versions.

The whole idea I am suggesting is somehow fundamentally 'wrong', but also fundamentally 'right' somehow.

This young fellow has posted quite a few Beatles songs and then this great version of Hit the Road Jack - all using finger style on an acoustic guitar. Is this what you had in mind?

Hotel California (Hell Freezes Over version - nylon)

CSNY "Find the Cost of Freedom" (nice flat picking tune that I can't find anywhere)

Neil Youngs one note solo from cinnamon girl (because it's awesome... and when you see the complexity in what is simple, you can see the simplicity in what is complex.)

Eruption (okay, just kidding)

That little bluesy thing that Simon was playing would be cool to.

It may not matter so much "which" particular songs.

I am just thinking "more". Row your boat stuff... rhythm stuff, combined stuff...

Just "more".

Fun ones might be Stephen Lynch, http://www.stephenlynch.com/discography.html

I guess the idea is "fun".

Maybe "Around the Campfire" type stuff, sing along, etc.,

Yes, everyone will have a different list.

That's why mine is most important! :D

Hey, what's wrong with that one?!?! I agree with Light Rock too as I'd love to see an exposition on you Row your boat piece. The more I listen to it, the more I like it and the more I'm impressed! I love how you took such a "simple" idea and then expanded it exponentially! The sign of a true master in my humble opinion.
If you want some recipes, I have a few, but nothing's better on guitar, than some "tasty blues stew".
All the Best,
Christian
