Progress: Solos 1 & 2

Postby Alexander » Sun Jun 20, 2010 3:24 pm

Hi Jamie,
The last session was awesome. Lots to digest and practice. With solo 2 I'm just looking to get the full solo (working on the vibrato separately right now). And solo 1, per you suggestion at 80 using a backing-track looking (from Band in a Box) for a little more "play" in the playing. :D

Solo#2 (full) @60

Solo# w/backing track @80

Thank you
Alex

They sounded great to me Alex. Awesome job! Your guitar playing is really coming together now and it just sounds so natural for you. I hope you're starting to work on the essential licks for the third solo, because I'd say you're ready. :D
If you want some recipes, I have a few, but nothing's better on guitar, than some "tasty blues stew".
All the Best,
Christian

They sounded great to me too Alex! Full steam ahead for you brother, you're a natural! :D :D :D

P.S. Geraldine heard this, she said "he's singing with the guitar"!
Best,

Oh, fantastic feed-back and from people you can trust 100% - that's beyond encouraging and motivating - It makes me choke up a bit, to be honest. I feel like I owe that little kid inside an apology
Kid: But I can play, I can, I can... :D
Me: Ohh,I understand, everybody wants to play, kid, but be realistic...it's too late. There's other things you can do, ok? :|
Kid: (head down)Oh, ok (under his breath) I still know I can play

Thank you

ps - Jamie, I also posted a video attempting the finger dipping on the acoustic - when you get a moment, I'am anxious to get feed-back on that.
Thanks
Alex

Please thank Geraldine for her kind words.

Congratulations Alexander; Awesome progress since I last checked...Focus a bit more on the intonation of your bends which are a bit consistently flat, unless you specifically want them precisely like that for artistic reasons. You can now -with the technique mastered- afford to become the music on these specific passages, which is the final goal while playing this material.

Thanks Ney, great feedback. I will continue work at feeling-becoming those pitches I am bending to, because they are flat by virtue of my bending technique still developing. In other words, my flats are flat. I'm not yet at the point where I can artistically choose to be flat
