Hello Guitar Player!

"You are not as good a guitar player as you CAN be!"

I don't know you personally, so I don't know the details of your situation. I don't know what style you play, or want to play. I don't know how much "natural talent" you have, or what playing problems you may be experiencing.

But there is one thing I DO know!

You are not as good a player as you CAN be.

How do I know this?

"I have never seen a player who did not have a serious collection of bad habits and playing problems!"

"....Most have not gotten better in years."

I know this because I have been teaching guitar for almost 50 years, and I have taught every style of guitar to every type of person. Young, old, talented, not talented........everyone. I have seen hundreds of long time players, people who have played for decades, even professionally, and I have never seen a player who did not have a serious collection of bad habits and playing problems!

Most of these players have not gotten better in years. They started learning guitar, they reached whatever level of ability their natural talent got them to, and then..............they get stuck on a playing plateau they can't get off.

There are a few ways to tell if your fingers are not working as good as they could be......

How Do You Know You're Not As Good As You CAN Be?

Oh, it's not that hard to tell. Many long time players:

  • Can't seem to play fast without breaking down (especially scales)
  • Can't seem to play anything all the way through without making (lots of) mistakes.

There are a few other ways to tell if your fingers are not working as good as they could be, or need to be, for making REAL music.

Can Your Fingers Do This??

If not, you'll have trouble with LOTS of things you try to play!

How Did That Go??

If you had ANY trouble getting your fingers into that position, you probably are suffering from the effects of

The 4 Diseases Of The Left Hand

Sound scary, it is! Playing with these guitar finger diseases is like running with your shoe laces tied together!
