You play the guitar with your fingers, but what goes on in your head is much more important than your fingers. Why? Becuase your head trains your fingers, that's why! Day by day, as you practice guitar, and attempt to train your fingers to do what they need to do to make music, your success depends, more than anything else, on having the right attitude.
Actually, we need the right attitudes, because there are a number of aspects of the guitar learning process that require the correct attitude in order for us to be successful. Subjects like boredom, hitting plateuas in our playing, striving for perfection, these subjects, and many more, must be correctly understood and dealt with in our guitar learning efforts.
An "attitude" is the lens we look through as we look at lifes problems, and our attitude determines what we see. That is why it is so important to cultivate the set of attitudes that will most empower us for success, by allowing us to see what needs to be seen on our daily journey with the guitar.
